Hardness Coatings
Component hardness can be greatly increased by applying various metal or ceramic coatings. Serviceable life and wear resistance are substantially improved, particularly when processing abrasive materials such as paper and fabric. The hardness coating metals applied range from Nickel alloys to Tungsten Carbide. The ceramic we apply is Chrome Oxide.
The hardness coatings can be used to either repair a component, for example, a worn bearing surface, or can be used to simply change the substrate hardness. Post coating machining is an option, depending on the surface finish and tolerance required. Hardness coatings are not normally impregnated with a non-stick coating such as a fluoropolymer but they can be if necessary. As an industrial metal coating company we would welcome the opportunity to talk to you about your requirements.
