Excellent erosion, impact and cavitation resistant Polyurethane coating with permanent elasticity especially under dynamic wear situations. TC6501 has a density of 1.0. As steel has a density of 7 to 8, TC6501 will absorb more energy for less coating weight thus making the whole coated component lighter and hence more energy efficient.
The TC6501 coating thickness is determined by the force it will be subjected to along with the impact angle. There is no top limit for the coating thickness and the greater the impact angle the greater the energy absorption.
TC6501 will withstand 10,000 hours of salt spray.
TC6501 is a non-toxic polyurethane formulation, is FDA compliant and is not moisture sensitive.
TC6501 has unlimited compression resistance and can be ground, machined and lapped to 0.1mm.
Maximum adhesion of TC6501 is ~ 20Nmm-2.
TC6501 has an electrical resistance of 5kVmm-1,
can be steam sterilised on a weekly basis and can be used in clean rooms up to class 6.
TC6501 has a sound deadening capability of 3 to 5 dB(A).
The optimum coating thickness being 1 to 1½ times the metal thickness. The coating thickness is 0.5mm upwards.
TC6501 is available in Shore hardnesses of 50 to 98A depending on the application.
TC6501 is available in different colours.
TC6501 has a surface roughness as sprayed of <1 µm Ra
and has a static Coefficient of Friction of 0.2 to 0.7 depending on the hardness of the coating.
