Dry Lubrication Coatings
The extraordinary sliding properties of fluoropolymers, which have low friction values when in contact with the most varied substrates, are well known. What is not well known is just which of the many sliding coatings are the best to use for a specific application. This is where the experience of Impreglon UK comes to the fore. With extensive knowledge and experience of successfully applying low friction coatings onto a variety of substrates (steel, Aluminium, Copper alloys and Carbon fibre for example), there really aren't many sliding or low friction problems Impreglon UK cannot solve.
Metals, plastics, paper and food are conveyed with much greater ease in production processes when sliding and low friction coatings are used. A sub-sector of low friction coatings are the dry lubrication coatings. These are used where moving parts need lubrication but, as the name suggests, the lubricity needs to be dry. An example would be a valve in an inaccessible location.
The Impreglon range of dry lubrication coatings includes PTFE, PTFE/graphite, PTFE/Molybdenum Disulphide and Molybdenum Disulphide on its own. In addition we offer a comprehensive range of proprietary coatings such as Molykote®, Teflon® and Xylan®. For more information see, for example,TempCoat®.
