Impreglon UK has recently launched a new permanent tack adhesive non-stick coating designed for rotary dies.
The traditional permanent tack adhesive non-stick coating is a fairly thick-film system that works perfectly from a non-stick viewpoint, but blunts the die cutting blades. Thus the coated roll has to be returned to the roll fabricator to be re-sharpened after coating which introduces both time and cost. In addition, the traditional coating cannot be used on circular or cross cut knives as it is a high friction coating.
The new Impreglon UK coating, XP1287, enjoys the non-stick properties of the traditional system but at a thinner film build. The roll blades remain sharp after coating so the coated roll is the finished article - no more post coating sharpening. It has proven to be hard wearing and in the field trials outperformed other options. It's low friction properties enable it to be successfully used on knives.
