StarCoat®

High speed thermal spraying techniques are used to create high grade metallic and carbide surfaces with the StarCoat® method. There are two types of StarCoat® applications.

SuperChrome and ArmorClad®: SuperChrome is a very hard thermally sprayed coating. With ArmorClad® we can reach a hardness of up to 75 HRc. All coatings in this category have very low porosity and a hard, robust surface. Impreglon can also mechanically refinish these coatings to create a very smooth surface. The end result will outperform Chrome plating in service.

SuperChrome and ArmorClad® coatings can be applied to steel, stainless steel, aluminium and cast iron. These extremely hard coatings are used particularly in the paper and printing industry, pump and valve technology, the oil industry and in textile and nonwoven production.

Coating thickness: 100 µm to 800 µm
Surface roughness (Ra): approx. 0.2 µm (mechanically refinished) to 30 µm
Temperature range: -40 °C to +950 °C
Hardness: 53 to 75 HRc
